I probably should be sleeping now. But I just can’t seem to stop myself from posting this update. :p
When I decided to open my laptop this afternoon, my initial plan was to try and layout a design for our message cards. I actually did that. But there was one detail that I wanted to incorporate in the layout that we still didn’t have, so I decided to do it myself — our monogram. I’ve already asked my cousin who’s an artist if he can do our monograms, but until now he hasn’t done it and I’m too shy to bother him with that. I also am reluctant to inquire with Monogram Hub about ordering some monograms because I think I can do them myself without spending Php.500-1500.
You probably wonder why in the title I said “monograms” while in the previous paragraph, I mentioned “our monogram”. Technically a monogram is like a logo. It would be the logo for our wedding. And just like any other brand out in the market, there should only be 1 logo. But since this is a wedding and not a brand or product, couples can opt to have as many as they would like, as long as it would look reasonable. Or whatever, really. And since I tried creating our monogram, I ended up creating more than one.
Creating monograms are quite challenging. The layout, the design, the colors, the fonts.. Oh dear, the fonts! This would be the hardest detail for me to choose, I swear. I can download all the fonts I can find online, and I’d still be struggling for the perfect font. Well anyway, as I’ve said, I created a few and I just wanted to share with you what I came up with.
This is a monogram I created for our message cards. I needed to have it in monochrome cause the paper I’ll be using is pink.
This was actually my first trial monogram and I think I like this one. 🙂 I had to research how to apply the background and stuff. But all other details are just my mix and match experiments. 🙂
This was the second monogram. I wanted to try and see if only our first name initials were written.
This was the variation of the previous monogram cause Lav thought that it would be better to have my initial first.
This is the second variation of the previous monogram. Since I rearranged the previous one to have my initial first, Lav thought to have the R slightly above so I had to rearrange it again, as requested.
Now, this would be a favorite of mine. The simplicity of this monogram really gets to me. I haven’t shown this to Lav cause he was already fast asleep when I finished making this. I hope he’ll like it as well. 🙂
This one gives me the feel of a somewhat tropical fresh celebration or something. I like this one as well. 🙂
This one, I really don’t know if this one makes sense. I just wanted to see how the background would look like. :p
This one… I have nothing to say about this. Haha!
This is another monogram I made for our message cards. I just need to try and print them to see which one would look better.
So there.. I guess I didn’t just make a couple.. I made almost 10 types in almost 6 hours. I just have to show this to Lav and decide which one we could use. 🙂
Gotta sleep now. Ciao! 🙂
